He graduated with honors from the University
of Washington School of Medicine and was named to
Alpha Omega Alpha (medical school honor society).
He is a clinical professor at the University of New
Mexico School of Medicine. He has served three terms
as chief-of-staff at Los Alamos Medical Center.
He and his wife, Marian, raised their
five children in Los Alamos.
Dr. Honsinger is a Fellow of the American
Academy of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology, Fellow
of the American College of Allergy and Immunology,
and is a master of the American College of Physicians.
Dr. Honsinger was listed in the Best Doctors in America
in 1996-97 and 1999-2000. He is listed in both the
Internal Medicine and Allergy/Immunology sections.
He received the Distinguished Laureate Award from
the New Mexico Chapter of the American College of
Physicians in 1997.
Dr. Honsinger has been active in medical
research. He has been a frequent lecturer, both abroad
and in the United States. He currently serves on
the Board of Directors of the American Academy of
Allergy, Asthma and Immunology. He has served on
the board of governors of the American College of
Physicians. He is chairperson of the UNM-LA Advisory
Board.
