Dr.
Jones is a Board Eligible orthopaedic surgeon specializing
in arthritis and joint replacement surgery. He is
northern New Mexico’s first orthopaedic surgeon
with fellowship training in Adult Reconstruction
and Joint Replacement. Dr. Jones brings many techniques
for both primary and revision joint replacement surgery
not previously offered in northern New Mexico. He
is working closely with Los Alamos Medical Center
to further develop its comprehensive total joint
program.
Dr.
Jones has performed northern New Mexico's first computer
navigated total knee replacement at Los Alamos Medical
Center. He is also among the first surgeons in the
United States approved to perform mobile-bearing
unicondylar (partial) knee replacement; and, he also
performs reduced and minimal incision (minimally
invasive) techniques.
Dr. Jones served as an Orthopaedic Surgery Instructor
at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences,
where he supervised and trained orthopaedic residents.
During his residency, Dr. Jones was afforded the opportunity
to train in many regions of the country. Dr. Jones’ pediatric
training at the Shriner’s Hospital for Crippled
Children in Spokane, Washington found him caring for
children from the Pacific Northwest, Montana, Idaho,
western Canada, and as far away as Alaska and Mexico.
Dr. Jones completed training in hand surgery in Detroit,
Michigan. This gave him insight into caring for patients
with industrial and repetitive injuries common in the
auto industry. He received additional total joint training
in Atlanta, Georgia where he participated in innovative
treatments for complex and infected total joint procedures.
Dr. Jones has pursued other professional activities.
He was a co-presenter at the Insall Scott Kelly Institute
for Sprts Medicine and Total Knee Replacement Symposium.
Additionally, he has served as a sideline physician
for high school and Arena football, CHL hockey, and
professional rodeos.
